It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jennifer Lee Maas (nee Doss), 67, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Jennifer, lovingly known as Jenny, passed away on March 23, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on June 21, 1958, Jenny lived a life defined by love, faith, and devotion to her family and community. Her courage in facing life’s challenges with grace and her unwavering commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Jenny’s life was filled with meaningful accomplishments and acts of service. She was an accomplished horsewoman, inspired by her sister Connie, and dedicated herself to the rehabilitation and care of rescued horses. Among her beloved horses was Lucas, a testament to her patience and love for animals. Beyond her work with horses, Jenny served multiple missions in Africa, particularly in Bumpe, Sierra Leone, where she helped establish an orphanage and provided school supplies to children in need. Her compassion and dedication to improving the lives of others were evident in every endeavor she pursued.
Family was at the center of Jenny’s life. She took joy in nurturing her children and grandchildren, always putting their needs and happiness first. Jenny loved to cook and was known for preparing marvelous meals, especially big breakfasts at the family cottage in Northern Wisconsin, where her warmth and hospitality created cherished family memories. Her presence was a source of laughter, comfort, and inspiration to everyone around her.
Jenny’s kindness extended far beyond her immediate family. Friends, neighbors, and all who had the privilege of knowing her remember her as a woman of genuine warmth, generosity, and wit. Her cheerful personality and thoughtful nature made everyone feel welcome, and her ability to bring joy into everyday moments was truly remarkable. Jenny’s deep faith guided her life, shaping her into a person whose love and care touched countless lives.
Jenny is survived by her loving husband, Eric, and their four children: Alan Maas (Tiffany), Laura (Michael) Davis, Emily (Jonathan) Brokens, and Stephanie (Justin) Lim. She will be deeply missed by her four grandsons: Bryce Davis, Chase Davis, Lucas Brokens, and Joseph Brokens. Jenny is further survived by her sisters Gail (the late Bert) Badtke, Linda (Paul) Mohrmann, and Connie (Jim) Gangnon, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Josephine Doss.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Jenny’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 5:00 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 4:45 PM. Family, friends, and all who knew Jenny are invited to attend and honor her memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Amazing Grace Equine Sanctuary, an organization Jenny supported that focuses on rehabilitating horses, or to Aurora Zilber Family Hospice. Those wishing to plant trees in her memory can visit the Sympathy Store. These gestures ensure that Jenny’s legacy of love, compassion, and service continues to make a positive impact.
Jennifer Lee Maas’s life was one of devotion, kindness, and generosity. She leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered by her family, friends, and the broader community. Her love, laughter, and caring spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
